Tummy Time

So does anyone have any good ideas for a baby who despises tummy time? Anytime I put her on her belly to play a little, she cries and cries and cries. I try to give her toys and sit and play with her, but it's still a time of sobbing.

We would try to put fun toys in front of John, but really at first tummy time lasted at tops one minute and would scream like we were cutting his toes off. Slowly he would get use to it and then he would go longer. Eventually he would cry when we put him on his back because he wanted to be on his belly. My advice is just to start out slowly and let her cry through it at first. She will get better at it. Also just do it as long as you can stand the screaming. For me it wasn't very long. Soon she will be a pro.

Hi and surprise! I saw a link to your blog from Dorese's blog and was so excited ;)

Anywho...well...the doctors may be mad at me for telling you this, but we never worried about tummy time with Nate. He didn't like it, so we didn't do it, and he's perfectly fine. He's never been developmentally slow or anything, and he's as rambunctious as a 14 month old should be now :) Don't worry, babies have a way of working on the muscles they really need. When she can roll over she'll love tummy time and will be crawling before you know it. :)

It's great to hear that you have a baby girl! So much has happened since we left!
